Well another year has started and I am optimistic. I am officially a part time student because I am taking 11 hours . ( A full load is considered to be 12 hours ). This summer I took 14 hours so I don’t feel too bad about not taking more classes. I want to be able to do my best in the classes I am taking: Cal 2 , Calc based physics, and accounting one. 

Accounting one so far is going well I am taking it again for grade replacement since GSU now offers it. My plan is to get an A and replace my old grade. I thought now would be a good time to take it because all my friends are taking it and I am doing my best to help them learn the concepts. I think they are benefitting from the help with the homework which is good. It is a little annoying that I have to get my work done and checked much earlier so I can help my friends but I think it is worth it in the end plus I have the added bonus of confidence that my answers are right when we check it in class

Calc 2 is pretty much just like Cac1 difficult and will require a lot of time and practice. However this is my most important class and if I ever want to go to tech I have to finish this class off. My teacher is much better than when I attempted it in the summer. She is also foreign but her English is fine. Our class also has a breakout session ( a extra class where all you do is go over extra problems) it is time consuming but pretty helpful. I also met this nice girl in my class who seems pretty smart so I hope we get together and study often. However I told my roommate I would introduce her to him because he likes asian girls hopefully he does not distract her from studying with me haha.

Physics 2211 is going to be a fight for my academic life . The teacher is really hard to understand and she doesn’t explain thinks that clearly, which is really rather annoying. The bright side is that 55 % of our grade comes from things we do outside of the scope of the regular class so I will just have to do my best on Labs quizzes and hw. I don’t know I don’t think it should be too bad. We will just have to see.

I am not sure on where I stand with a lot of my relationships with a lot of people. My roommate sits in his room and plays StarCraft 2 all day long. People always ask whether we are even friends, naturally I say we are we just do our own things. However from time to time I worry about him he is very behind on his math perquisites because he says he wants to be a computer science major however he hasn’t taken precalc yet he thinks he only has to take calc 1 but I know he has to take at least calc 2 I know because every comp science I have spoken to has told me the same thing and I looked it up, but to each his own I cant tell him how to live.

The friends I used to hang out with a lot of the time during last year have either started commuting or smoking pot. I don’t really mind that they smoke pot its not a huge deal it is just annoying sometimes when we are hanging out and they want to get high I mean then I usually just leave u I mean I could do it to and they really want me to do it with them but ehh I just have some reservations about doing it. I mean we still hang out and they are still my friends it just seems like the dynamic is changing a little bit maybe I am just a prude.

I always worry about what people think about me and whether my intentions will be misconstrued. If I act a certain way what will people think of me. This year I decided to just try and be a nice guy and not worry  about  what everyone thinks hopefully they will know I am, just a nice guy nothing more nothing less. Its just so hard to know what people really think about you. In the end though does it really matter. Like me dislike me but as long as you put up with me we are for all intensive purposes on the same side. You just can’t thing about it too much. However just for the sake of conversation if you ask me what I think of you after reading this I will tell and I will not be nice. However you have to say Davin what do you really think of me or will sugar coat it. Warning: do not attempt this if you know I don’t like you why would you do that to yourself. Till next time.

Recently my friends and I discussed which fast food restaurants are the best; this list is a prototype if you have any thoughts of your own tell me about them.

We defined fast food restaurants as: a place where you can get food in a relatively  short amount of time, and a restaurant where no numbered meal  intended for one person can exceed $10 as advertised before tax  ex: $ 9.99 is ok. ( No, KFC 20 pieces are not intended for one person, fatty)

Sonic: 9.6

Pros: What’s not to love about sonic. First of as far as fast food is concerned the variety is second to none. They have chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, corndogs, chilly cheese dogs, hamburgers, cheese burgers, chicken strips, French toast, the list goes on and on. That’s just their food. They have drinks galore they also have happy hour from 2-4 every weekdays.  Don’t even get me started on their sweet treats they have ice creams and chillers special chilled coffees it’s just unreal.  Then when you add in the fact they have so many coupons it’s just great.  They have so many coupons you can even make up your own coupons my favorite invention was the coupon to sonic size any meal for free. Also shares a name with a beloved video game character

Cons: The only real con with this place is you cannot go inside it. Making it unpopular in the winter, and somewhat expensive if you don’t have the coupon options. Sonic size translation: regular is small, large is medium, and sonic size is large. A little bit confusing and annoying. SO if you order a large they don’t give you the largest size.

The reigning champ, reasons for this are; despite the fact that they don’t have any place to eat indoors they have a variety of different foods you can get breakfast lunch or dinner. They have a bunch of great drink options

Taco Bell: 9.3

The pros: Good food, cheap prices open late, best for late nights when you are not in the mood for WH(waffle house), do the dew, vegetarian friendly

The cons: little to no variety, low quality ingredients , few sweet options, snobs don’t like it due grade D ingredients , Not many desirable, well advertised sides

(Was in running for best fast food restaurant but really loses points for lack of desert options, and health concerns in relations to their meat, additional points for their vegetarian options)

Zaxby’s: 8.3

Pros : The upper crust of the fast food industry. Their crinkle fries are the stuff. Zax’s sauce makes everything better their milkshakes ( you know the song) are on point, they are new and awesome try em on par with Chick-fill-a

Cons: overpriced opened until 10 pm, Extremely slow if you do not use the drive through ( get what you pay for )

(The early closing of Zaxby’s prevents it from reaching the nines)

Cons: biggest con ever not opened on Sunday not opened late defiantly a day place very family oriented (that’s under cons because I am not 30 I don’t have a kid )

Pros: great chicken sandwiches best place for chicken sandwiches, waffle fries

Pros: curly fries, Arby’s sauce, and great coupon support. Great deals without coupons. Tons of sides.

Cons: Little variety main course wise.( when was the last time you went to Arby’s and didn’t get roast beef )

Pros: Better than average shakes, BACONATOR !!!!!!! Frosty, and good sides (ex chili  and baked potatoes)

Cons: a little more expensive ( square burgers don’t make you special Wendy)

Waffle House: 7.5

Pros: Hash browns! Obviously the waffles and the fact that for only 99 cents a second waffle can be added. The all-star special, especially in combination with the double waffle, is possibly the best deal in the fast food industry. 24/7 baby.

Cons: I don’t mean to sound harsh, but the attractiveness of the employees is a legitimate concern.  ( Have you ever seen anyone attractive ever work at a waffle house seriously  I even goggled it nothing. I think that if you are attractive and apply there they just won’t hire you.). Do not get me wrong they are nice but they are always kind of strange for example the guy we used to have used to drink bleach (seriously) and the women at the one I go to now always butts into conversations. The riff-raff patrons (pretty much people who just have nothing to do at all  late at night like  yours truly and tuckers of course). The overall artery clogging-ness. Another place that snobs can’t really go to. All the same 24/7 baby

Steak and shake (famous for steakburgers):7.2

Pros :with shake in the name you know their Shakes have to at least be decent and they are really good I personally prefer the one for Zaxby’s and Chick-fill-a more, but they have a huge variety of shakes. They have happy hour for two hours where all drinks are half off and that is awesome it also includes shakes. They have a variety foods Chili sandwich melts , burgers, last but not least they are opened really late (like four). Oh one more things they are heavy on the coupons that is big.

Cons: their food is not that good, it is below McDonald’s quality and their fries are stupid ( stop trying to be cute  not everything is better smaller, even if technologies seems to belief that). food takes too long they call it fast food for a reason it’s not a real sit down restaurant( personally don’t like them that much but they do so much have to give them props

Jersey Mikes: 7

Pros: Tops the sandwich class of this list. Ingredients are deli fresh and cold cut when you order. By far the best sandwich.

Cons: Somewhat lacking in toppings and rather pricey. (get what you pay for )

Pros: Philly cheese steaks are probably the best kind of sandwich in existence.

Pros: Toasted subs are legit. Creative ingredients/combinations. They make a delicious sandwich. Also, the names “bullet” and “torpedo” are really cool names for a kind of sandwich.

Cons: Overpriced. Very small portion size.

Pros : Good initials (DQ haha) They have the legendary Blizzard (never had one but they are supposed to be great) they exist for their  cold treats just think about them as ice cream shop that happens to sell real food

Cons: Asides from their ice cream related foods their food is substandard at best

Pros : Raisin biscuits taste like bo’berry biscuits , fries are ok  burgers  are fine

Pros: Their fries are legendary all over the US maybe all over the world they are not the best but they are always good most people like them the set the standard for fries if fries are better than them they are really good. Big mac

Cons: by the time you are 18 and provided you are not some hippie weirdo veggie lover you have had you fair share of McDs and you are just done( I have personally sworn of McDonald for a while)

Subway: 5

Pros: 5 dollar foot-long. Marketing.

Cons: Very little amount of food between the bread. Not very fresh. A mediocre sandwich. It gets the job done, not much else. They are associated with gas stations

Pros: it is Moe’s but more expensive and with “better ingredients”

cons: all of Moe’s draw back and more expensive, no queso dip ( who are you trying to kid no queso dip that is ridiculous) chips do not come free with your meal making it even more expensive ( the Starbucks of fast-food)

Pros : awesome family style dinners when you cant cook and don’t want to find stuff in Wal-Mart or pizza

Pros: Sliders. Period. They are as good as a regular burger but you can get them in bulk and cheap.  If you want more, getting a few more is no problem.  They bring the food out to you at the table which is always nice.

Cons: Sliders earn their nickname. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, lucky you. Fries are fairly poor.

Cons: Let me start out by saying their burger is not king it is not even a jack ,its  not even good. It is pretty mediocre maybe a step below McDonald’s, unfortunately for them that is their hook that is all they have. Justice

One day I hope to be lawyer that is where I want to end my formal education. As a lawyer I want to either focus on divorces or be a prosecutor. Either way when people come to me they will be looking for a favorable outcome their own form of justice. Justice (the quality of being righteous or fair) is one of the most arbitrary words in English.  Justice is a charismatic ultimate term. An ultimate term is a term that is highly respected and has special power in culture. A Charismatic one is an ultimate term that has mysterious power (like freedom or democracy). Think about it Justice how no real meaning at all it is just a weapon utilized by those who are clever enough to use it first.

Think about the OJ Simpson case some people will say that the court system did its job and justice was served while most of the country would say that a guilty man walked free and justice failed. For justice to prevail if someone is to win the other must lose. That’s why the symbol for justice is a scale. To be a man of justice to be a man of the law you have to accept the fact that you will eventually fall. Just like a scale you will have your ups and your downs but in then end you will balance out and you get exactly what you deserve. You think oh that is fine it is really no big deal get what I deserve, however that means being honest with ourselves about what we deserve. Think about it all the things in your life you deserve everything that has happened to you.

When I was younger Justice was just synonym for fair, As I grew I as most teenagers do questioned  the world around me and I feel into thinking that most of the world does that the world is not fair so I just complained all the time. Then my best friend who was really into the Japanese anime show “Full Metal Alchemist” told me about the driving principle in the world of that show was “equivalent exchange” “to gain something you have to give up something of equal value”. He believed that this idea applied to the real world as well. I asked him what about baby who dies at birth he countered you have no idea of the impact that baby had on everyone so you can’t say it was not an equal trade. We had many different conversation like that throughout high school until he dropped the notion however the conversation were important because they broadened my scope of the world. Last year the same friend convinced me to watch the show Death Note. It is actually a really good show but you have to give it a real chance and come at it with and opened mind, The premise of the show was there is a serial killer who goes around killing horrible criminals however since he is committing murders the police go after him. Then he starts killing the people who are pursuing him. The point is though the show doesn’t have a protagonist and antagonist it instead just has 2 protagonists. It leave the viewer to decide who is bad and who is good, The interesting thing is they both claim to be justice the muder because he is killing criminals, and the cop because he is catching a murder.

That is more like what the real world is, there is no good and evil not with men. Behind every viscous dictator there was once a man who just wanted to make his country great. Behind every drunken father there is just a little boy who was abused. Behind every terrorist suicide bomber there is a honorable man willing to lay down his own life for his country and his beliefs. Each of us should find our own path of justice and stick to it because the one society has preset for us is not necessary what is best for all of us. Do what you have to get by but don’t betray your own morals yours own justice or you will have nothing to comfort you when you finally fall from grace. What does Justice mean to you?

Recently I realized I would not be able to got to Georgia Tech this fall. I spent the whole entire last year telling people that I would be going to Georgia Tech this fall so I had to go back and tell everyone else I wasn’t going. It wasn’t so bad though because some of them didn’t think I was going to get in. So no surprise there for them I can’t say it is not annoying to prove people like that right but I have no one to blame but myself. You know what though Calc 2 as a summer classes was just moving too fast too much for me but this could end up as a big help to me getting a lot of really hard courses out of the way before I got to tech but I lose my sure thing. I will make it though I know I can do it I just have to work harder. However this failure made me reflect upon everything that has happened up until know and the people who help get me here. I though about one person in particular who genuinely cared but didn’t have to have interest, but always checked up on me and wanted the best for me and I am sorry I can’t show them that all that concern really was worth something with my acceptance letter but I will just have to shoot for next year. The important thing to remember is when things are good you didn’t do it by yourself , and when they are bad you are never all alone no matter how hard your work no success is ever all because of you and no matter how badly you feel when you fail you are are never all alone in your failure

My birthday was Sunday April 11. The day before I had an accounting test as i was finishing up filing in bubbles she said time i had circled all the answers on my test but had not bubbled them in yet i thought i would be given the opportunity to finish bubbling them because it was obvious i had the answers just had not put them down. I was however incorrect i did not mark 18 answers and got 40 % on the test now the best I can make in the class is a C. I met with the teacher and basically she just said sucks for you.

That was the last day of being 18 for me. I now understand that although i was upset with my teacher i only have myself to blame. This brings up a good point i assumed that my teacher was going to do me a favor because it would not hurt her to do so but what i did not realize is that she did not actually have any reason to help me. In the real world no one is going to give you something for nothing even if it doesn’t cost them a thing. Which brings up the question who is looking out for you who is gonna be there when things get inconvenient.

With my birthday coming up i am not proud to admit this but i had a couple of expectation from some of friends. Since we did certain things for all of their days. Things didn’t really go as i imagined but i cant say i was disappointed because i did not really want any of that stuff  its just that i appreciated the thought behind such gestures. However i got some nice surprises. My brother and friend from GT took me out to dinner which was really chill. Rosanne gave me call  as soon as it was my birthday even though she was sick before my parents even. Also even when i didn’t expect to get anything Monica and Jennifer got me stuff.

The thing that can be hard with your relationship with people is what to expect from them and knowing exactly where you stand with  people. With certain people you know that you are their best bud and they are yours. Then there are other people who you want o be closer to but you have no idea where they stand on the issue. Then there are people who you both are just good friends and and your are happy with that and do not want to go any further than that. the patter continues all the way down to mortal enemies. The point is how  do you ever know what to expect from them.

I have resolved to in the future to just do what i want to for people and to not expect anything in return from people. In this way i can never be disappoint and i will always be pleasantly surprised. Its just to hard to read people and to see how they view the relationship you two are in and of course since we are people can ask them because they would just tell us what they think we want to hear when all we would really like to hear is the truth. So that my new stance feel free to ask me for anything in the future because if i we are cool i will do everything in my power to help you, and you will not owe me a thing in return. Its funny that how when you get older the ridiculous things your parents tell you really start to make a lot more sense when i was younger i never really understood its the thought that counts mean not until at least two or three years ago did that make sense to me.

Today I went outside and saw the sky it was grey and ominous a storm was about to start. The sight i saw caught me by surprise it was beautiful, strange and mystriously beautiful. It was the calm before the storm, it reminded me of my favorite piece of artwork Tsunami. As i saw it I wished to myself that someone else could see what i was seeing. then i realised i did not know anyone who would want to see do something like that with me. I have a lot of friends and we do a lot of things together but i realised that i didnt know anyone who i could call on to just watch the clouds roll on by with and that was regretful. Al the same I was consumed by the moment. I watched for about 15 mins then it got chilly. so i went to go get my coat. When i came back it  was dark and the clouds could no longer be seen i stayed out for a little longer but then it started to rain so i retreated. I wish i could have just stayed in that moment all night long and i wish someone else knew how i felt as i sat there and felt the same way it was a perfect moment and when you have one you have to slow down and stop and appricated it for what it really is.

People always feel that they are right no matter what. When you speak more often than not you do it to hear yourself talk then to listen to what other people are saying. That is the nature of politics. The true politician is one who can take someone who believes something and change their mind. Something most people do not know about me is am not conservative or republican at all I have looked at most of the issues that concern politics and have decide I am split so instead of blindly picking something and staying steadfast to it I choose not to pick any at all. I live in Georgia where the vast majority of people are conservative. My roommates and I were having a conversation about politics today. Where my roommates were attacking socialized health care while I was defending it personally the issue does not matter to me and I know no matter what happens the bill doesn’t affect me, because it is optional and you only pay if you decide upon that option but since it doesn’t actually exist yet it doesn’t really matter and it is hard to know one way or another before they decide on a bill.

Well the main argument the roommates had was why they should be held responsible if something bad happens to someone else. They compared the situation to being taken at gun point and being forced to pay for someone’s broken leg. I felt that realistically speaking that was unreasonable. The reason they were so upset about it was because they were being forced to pay for someone’s mess ups. However I feel this is just not a fair view I recognize that I am where I am today by a series of hard work yes but mostly luck and coincidence. I was born into a very educated family that valued education above all other things. So I always grew up knowing what I should do having a plan for myself I realize I could just as easily be in Africa or poor on the streets and if I were born on the streets and I was disciplined to studied I would have been poor my whole life probably. Most people are just mirror images of what their parents were it is very hard to move up in the social ladder from middle class to rich or from, poor to middle class. The reason being because you do not grow up with those values and that mind set instilled in you. People are always like,” well if you just work hard you can moves up every one is born equal”. Yes but they do not all have equal opportunities for instance we all grew up with a lot more than children of drugged out parents. If a child like that grows up to be an account it would be the equivalent of me becoming a doctor. It would probably take more effort on his part actually where as I could easily be an account without trying because that is what I was born into I am put in a situation where it would be much more difficult to fail then him who was set up to fail.

Government programs most of them are not for people like me from the time I was born I pretty much had made it. Most of us did, if I did not grow up and go to college and get a decent job it would be extremely surprising. However for someone like the child I described before a regular life like that is a pipe dream only possible through some academic scholarships and athletic ones. However without help that is just going to be the pattern people will drop out take drugs be hobos reproduce and be burden on society as whole. The thing is people complain about these things but if you think about who is voting for them the people who the bills help do not even vote. Illegal immigrants do not vote, hobos do not vote, for the most part only respectable members of society vote. So if the people who are getting the benefits’ are not even voting if the conservative view is so obviously right it will come out in the end. I personally just wish the government was more efficient at allocating funds and helping out the impoverished instead of just throwing money at the problem. However a lot of American cannot afford health insurance and for them just to get fucked because they do not have enough money seems wrong to me. Think about it if you are living off of minimal wage basically from paycheck to paycheck do not have a car your job doesn’t pay for health insurance and you get hurt some how you are totally fucked. You will not be able to work you cannot pay for a hospital. You could say you should not be in that predicament at all but that life things happen and in the real world no one is going to help you. If there were free health care maybe you can get some coverage sure that person would have a little less when his pay check comes around, but when he needed it he could get some help. That is who it is for and that what it does, true it may never affect you, and you may never end up benefiting from it, but it does help Americans and if that guy lost his job because he could not work then he would be on welfare until he could get a new one how is that better in the least ………. ( I can not get the stuff at the top to leave  I like to copy into a word document then past I will not do that anymore)

Ha tumblr, well Jenifer  told me to get a tumblr and when she talks I listen haha. So back to blogging, its weird, and it sure has been a long time Jenifer is probably the only one who will read it.  Hmm I was talking to my friend Christina about some stuff  the other day and the subject of trust came up.  She talked about how she could not trust guys because of how they act.  And that got me to thinking on who can I trust. I reflected on it and here is a list.

You may or may not be thinking 5 that is not a lot of people. These are the first 5 people ( in no particular order) that I would want to rely on in a critical situation. They are not necessarily my best friends but they are good friends who are in some capacity reliable. For instance my best friend who will remain nameless because I do not have permission to use his name is not on this list because despite the fact I have know him for 10 years recently he has proven himself to be extremely  unreliable. Any time I ask him for something or invite him to do something no matter what his response is I expect him not to come. The reason being because he does not put high propriety on things he doesn’t want to do or don’t benefit him personally he has said so many times himself.  Its just a fundamental difference between me and him and since I do not  match up with his priories I find him unreliable.  The people I can rely on I have mutual trust with. People need to have people they can rely on because as much as we all want to believe we  can make it on our own  we can’t and we would all be worse off without the people we trust in our lives. As I get older I find these things that older people tell me to be more and more true even if I do not want to admit it.
